Production Planning
At OLC Systems, we have extensive experience in production planning for manufacturing lines based on production recipes and the required product quantities.
The production planner has access to order data (such as the required delivery date, quantity, raw materials, etc.) and can simply drag and drop orders from a prepared queue into the schedule for a selected production line. Strict rules apply here, and once an order is placed into the schedule, the system allocates the production time required according to the specified recipe. The schedule allows orders (in reality, production blocks) to be rearranged or split, and it automatically reschedules based on various additional criteria (e.g., fixed blocks are bypassed for specific reasons).
Beyond the planner’s own work, the schedule provides an online graphical view of production data for all staff levels—from shop floor workers to management. Thanks to the platform used (a web application), our software enables production to be monitored at any time, anywhere in the world.
Among its more interesting features is the ability to compare the plan with reality. The control software generates a so-called “Production Plan,” which, in this case, is not just a plan but a real-time view of how production has been carried out and is currently progressing. This provides highly valuable data for management, allowing them to assess not only adherence to the production schedule but also, for example, the efficiency of individual shifts.
